Funding Opportunities

 

 

The NEA, Orton Family Foundation, USDA, Project Open Space, and Community Matters –join forces to create beginning July 1, 2012, the Citizens' Institute on Rural Design

http://www.nea.gov/news/news12/CIRD.html - Over the summer of 2012, CIRD partners will assemble a task force to develop guidelines for communities to apply to host a workshop. Guidelines will be distributed in Fall 2012 with a deadline expected in December 2012.  A panel will review the applications and selected communities will be announced in early January 2013.

 

Grants to support clean energy and environmental health
The John Merck Fund has announced it will spend all of its assets over the next ten years to spur progress in clean energy, environmental health, development of a New England regional food system, and treatment of developmental disabilities. Organizations interested in obtaining support for their work should submit a letter of inquiry.

Funding for education and the environment
The Hewlett Foundation makes grants to five core areas, including projects focusing on education and the environment. If you feel that your project aligns with the foundation's goals and strategies, you are invited to submit a letter of inquiry at any time during the year.

 

Ovation and Americans for the Arts Announces Launch of Grant Program for Innovative Arts-Focused Community Revitalization Projects - Grants ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 will be awarded to members of Americans for the Arts in honor of innovative, arts-focused, neighborhood-renewal initiatives.... Sappi Fine Paper North America Seeks Entries for Ideas That Matter Design Grant Program - Grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 will be awarded to designers who donate their time and talent to create communications materials for charitable organizations and activities.... Deadline: July 20, 2012

 

National Dairy Council and General Mills Foodservice Announce Grants to Fund K-12 School Breakfast Programs - Grants of up to $2,000 are available to schools that participate in the USDA School Breakfast Program to develop or expand their breakfast programs.... Deadline: July 31, 2012

 

Dr Pepper Snapple and KaBOOM! Offer Let's Play Community Construction Grants - Grants of $15,000 will be awarded to municipalities, neighborhood associations, schools, day care centers, and nonprofit organizations interested in providing or improving a playground in an underserved community.... Deadline: July 20, 2012

 

Youth Service America Invites K-12 Educators to Apply for Sodexo Foundation School Engagement Grant - Grants of $5,000 are available to K-12 educators to engage students in a semester of service learning focused on childhood hunger in their communities.... Deadline: July 15, 2012

 

Youth Service America Invites Nominations of Youth Leaders and Young Educators for Harris Wofford Service-Learning Awards - Awards will be made in honor of a youth leader and a young educator for their outstanding commitment to service-learning... Deadline: July 22, 2012
