Webinar Topic:
This webinar will outline a rationale for why Extension education in civil discourse and deliberative governance is both important and timely; a conceptual framework; examples of program content; and some logistical information regarding program sharing/delivery across the Region.
Presenter:
Bill Rizzo, Ph.D., Professor and Local Government Specialist, University of Wisconsin-Extension Local Government Center
Bill has been with UW-Extension’s Local Government Center since June of 2013. For the previous 16 years, Bill served as an Extension Community Development Educator working with local governments in Dane County, WI. His Extension work on Civil Discourse and Deliberative Governance includes educational programs and applied research to help local officials more effectively engage and collaborate with communities – their citizens, organizations, and institutions - in the development of informed local policy. Bill received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University from the Department of Resource Development with a dual emphasis in Community and Organizational Development.
