Home Health Care Agency Availability in Rural Counties (Final Report)
Examines home healthcare across the United States and in rural counties including home health care agency availability and quality of services provided. Reports that counties at risk for limited service availability were almost entirely rural. Of the 34 counties lacking a home health agency, 30 were rural. Of the 120 counties served by a single agency, 118 were rural. Organization: South Carolina Rural Health Research Center. Date: 06 / 2014

Tribal Colleges Research Grants Program (TCRGP) - Application deadline: Jul 25, 2014
Offers grants to tribal colleges or universities for research projects that address concerns and needs of tribal and reservation communities, including projects that focus on nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and obesity reduction in tribal communities. Sponsor: USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture
Transportation Sector: Funding Opportunity under Small Community Air Service Development Program - Applications must be submitted no later than July 31, 2014.
The Department of Transportation is currently soliciting proposals from communities or consortia of communities interested in receiving grants under the Small Community Air Service Development Program. The July 3 FEDERAL REGISTER provides full background and application instructions.
SBA Announces Available Funding to Support Regional Clusters - Applications are due July 31
The Small Business Administration (SBA) announced it is accepting applications for the SBA Clusters Program. Under the SBA Clusters Program up to four contracts may be made to lead organizations of innovation cluster initiatives from across the country. The awards are intended to help the lead organization bring together regional assets to support the cluster and provide services and resources to small businesses involved in the cluster.. National Technical Assistance Center on Improving Transition to Postsecondary Education and Employment for Students with Disabilities - Applications are due by August 18.
The purpose of the Technical Assistance and Dissemination to Improve Services and Results for Children with Disabilities program is to promote academic achievement and to improve results for children with disabilities by providing technical assistance (TA), supporting model demonstration projects, disseminating useful information, and implementing activities that are supported by scientifically based research. The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services within the Department of Education has announced a funding opportunity under this program, identifying $2,500,000 to fund a single award. The priority and objective is to jointly fund a cooperative agreement to establish and operate a National Technical Assistance Center on Improving Transition to Postsecondary Education and Employment for Students with Disabilities (Center). The Center will assist State educational agencies (SEAs), local educational agencies (LEAs), State vocational rehabilitation (VR) agencies, and other VR service providers to implement evidence-based and promising practices and strategies to ensure that students with disabilities, including those with significant disabilities, graduate from high school with the knowledge, skills, and supports needed for success in postsecondary education and employment.
Eligible Applicants are SEAs; LEAs, including public charter schools that are considered LEAs under State law; State VR agencies; IHEs; other public agencies; private nonprofit organizations; outlying areas; freely associated States; Indian tribes or tribal organizations; and for-profit organizations. The July 2 FEDERAL REGISTER provides full background and the application requirements.
